As a protocol, SIP is designed to provide interoperability and enhanced services by connecting a wide variety of multimedia endpoints and applications together in a standard format. The S8000 endpoints are designed to operate on converged IP networks, such as the internet and corporate LANs/WANs in order to facilitate flexible working and remote office applications. Implementing SIP mode allows your enterprise to access the Shared Extension feature, which allows multiple endpoints to use the same extension number on the Axxess converged system. Incoming calls to a shared extension are sent to SIP endpoints simultaneously; offering you dynamic mobility when you're away from your main desk. Additionally, SIP mode enables IP endpoints to interoperate with third-party SIP solutions.
